DTH Drill, also known as Down the Hole Drill, is a commonly used rock drilling equipment in engineering. It relies on pneumatic impact drilling and is commonly used in hard rock drilling construction such as mines, pile foundations, slopes, and tunnels.

Working principle of DTH Drill

The DTH Drilling rig relies on high-pressure compressed air to be sent into the downhole impactor at the bottom of the hole, driving the piston to collide with the drill bit at high frequency, breaking the rock by the impact force, and at the same time, the wind pressure is used to discharge the rock debris, and combined with rotary drilling to form the hole.

The main advantages of Down the Hole Drill

1.High drilling efficiency and fast drilling speed in hard rock

2.Good drilling verticality and high drilling quality

3.Low energy consumption, drill rod is not easily damaged and durable

4.Strong depth adaptability and significant advantages in deep hole construction

5.Smooth wind pressure slag discharge, less likely to block holes or get stuck in the drill

DTH Drilling Rigs are widely applicable to rock formations and are commonly used for mining infrastructure pile foundations

What are the applicable scope of DTH Drilling Rigs?

1.Mining:blasting holes, exploration holes drilling

2.Infrastructure projects:photovoltaic piles, wind power piles, foundation anchoring holes

3.Hydraulic Geology:Water Well Drilling, Geological Exploration Holes

4.Road slope:anchor bolt holes for slope protection, drilling holes for roadbed reinforcement

5.Tunnel construction:pipe shed holes, advanced support drilling

6.Quarry:Quarry Blasting and Drilling

Down the Hole Drill is mainly suitable for various types of medium hard and hard rock formations, including granite, limestone, basalt, gneiss, quartzite, sandstone, shale, etc., and can meet the drilling needs of rock hardness; At the same time, drilling can also be carried out in soil layers containing small amounts of gravel and crushed stones, but it is not suitable for pure soft soil layers (it is recommended to use specialized equipment such as spiral drills for pure soft soil layers). Different rock formations can be efficiently drilled by adjusting the type of drill bit, impact frequency, and rotation speed, with strong adaptability.
