Overview of Down the Hole Drilling Rig

A down the hole drilling rig is a device that directly delivers the impactor and drill bit to the bottom of the hole, repeatedly striking the rock to break the hard layer, hence it is called a 'down the hole drilling rig'. It is widely used in projects such as metal mining, hydropower, transportation, building materials, ports, and national defense. Rocks with a hardness of 8 or above can be easily penetrated. The overall price is not high, especially suitable for use in small and medium-sized open-pit mines.

Classification of down the hole drilling rig products:

1. According to different usage locations, it can be divided into two categories: underground down the hole drilling machines and open-pit down the hole drilling machines.

2. According to the aperture, it is divided into light down the hole drilling rig, medium down the hole drilling rig, heavy down the hole drilling rig, and extra heavy down the hole drilling rig.

Working principle of down the hole drilling rig:

The working principle of a down the hole rock drill is the same as other rock drills, which involve processes such as impact, rotation, slag removal, and propulsion to drill holes, and belong to the impact rotary drilling type. The difference is that the impactor of the down the hole drilling rig is installed at the front end of the drill rod, penetrates into the bottom of the hole, and continuously advances with the extension of the borehole.

Characteristics of hydraulic down the hole drilling rig:

1. The impact energy loss does not increase with the elongation of the drill rod, and can drill deep holes with large diameters;

2. The working face noise is greatly reduced;

3. Fast drilling speed, high degree of mechanization, less auxiliary operation time, and improved drilling efficiency;

4. Mobile and flexible;

5. High drilling quality;

6. Capable of drilling rocks that are medium hard or above (f greater than or equal to 8tdaf002)

Application scope of down the hole drilling rig

1. Mining engineering: used for drilling blasting holes and survey holes in open-pit mines, with a recommended aperture of ø 92-200mm

2. Photovoltaic construction: This equipment is equipped with spiral drill rods, specifically designed for photovoltaic pile foundation construction

3. Geotechnical engineering: solving the problem of pore formation in fractured strata, applied in engineering fields such as slope anchoring and tunnel pipe shed support

4. Foundation treatment: Complete special operations such as deep foundation pit support and ground source heat pump holes

FAQ

Q1: What kinds of projects is a down the hole drilling rig suitable for?

A1: DTH drilling rigs are widely used in metal mining, hydropower, transportation, building materials, port construction, and national defense projects. They are especially suitable for drilling medium-hard to hard rock layers.

Q2: What are the main advantages of a hydraulic DTH drilling rig?

A2: Hydraulic DTH rigs have faster drilling speed, lower working noise, high drilling quality, flexible mobility, and can drill deep and large-diameter holes without losing impact energy as the drill rod length increases.

Q3: Can customers visit your factory?

A3: Yes. Our office, production workshop, and product display area are all open to visitors. Customers are welcome to tour the facility and communicate on-site for a more intuitive understanding of our products.
